Democratic Senator Cory Booker, introduced The Protect American Families Act, labeled S. 54 in the Senate, to prevent the federal government from creating any “immigration-related registry programs that classify people based on religion, race, age, gender, ethnicity, national origin, or nationality.” The Bill has attracted the support of ten Senate co-sponsors:  nine Democrats and an Independent who caucuses with the Democrats. The legislation has not yet received a vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
